Reaching Every Corner of "Bumi Kenari": Stories Behind the SE2026 Special Family Data Collection 🇮🇩✨
That morning in "Bumi Kenari" (Alor Regency), the field officers from BPS Alor Regency set out once again. This time, their route was a little different. Instead of visiting typical households, they stepped through the gates of an orphanage, knocked on the doors of an Islamic boarding school (*pesantren*), and even entered the grounds of the Correctional Facility (Lapas).
Behind the orphanage walls, the laughter of children welcomed the officers' arrival. At the *pesantren*, the recitation of holy verses provided the backdrop as data and economic activities within the school's vicinity were recorded. Similarly, behind the prison gates, the hesitant smiles of the inmates slowly softened when they realized the officers were there to listen to them and acknowledge their presence.
For in the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), not a single citizen must be overlooked. Leave no one behind!
From the smiles of the children in the orphanage and the economic potential of the *pesantren* to the hopes of the inmates—all are integral parts of the economic pulse of Alor Regency. The data collected today will serve as a crucial foundation for formulating national development policies that are more inclusive, fair, and equitable.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the orphanage administrators, *pesantren* leaders, and the staff of the Alor Regency Correctional Facility for their openness, cooperation, and warm welcome.
This step may seem small, but its impact will be felt in the nation's future. 📊
Recording Indonesia, Building the Nation 🧡
