On Friday, December 19, 2025, the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Alor Regency held the 77th National Defense Day ceremony in the office yard. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Gustav P. Moata (Head of the General Sub-Division of BPS Alor Regency), while the ceremony was led by Mr. Matheus J. Dopong (Supervisory Statistician).
The National Defense Day commemoration carried the theme "Strengthen National Defense for a Progressive Indonesia." Mr. Gustav read out President Prabowo's address. In his address, he emphasized that national defense is not solely a military duty, but the responsibility of all citizens. Every profession has a strategic role in maintaining sovereignty, unity, and the direction of national development.
For the statistician, the spirit of national defense is demonstrated through professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to providing accurate and reliable data. Strong data serves as the foundation for sound policies and supports a progressive and competitive Indonesia.
